Cooling tower requirements 

Broward County adopted a cooling tower water use efficiency ordinance in 2012. A cooling tower is a unit that recirculates water in order to cool down the interior of a building.  
The cooling tower requirements can be found in Broward County Code of Ordinance Chapter 34, Article VII Cooling Tower Water Use Efficiency. Property owners shall obtain a cooling tower license to operate a new cooling tower including tower replacement after May 31st, 2012. Licenses shall be renewed annually on or before March 31st each year.
