Regulated Enforcement

Scope of Enforcement

Broward County’s Resilient Environment Department (RED) uses its enforcement authority to facilitate enforcement actions and compliance with environmental, child care licensing, consumer protection, and building code regulations. Compliance with local, state, and federal regulations is our main goal. Broward County’s authority to enforce regulations is delineated in the Broward County Code and Florida Administrative Code. In addition to Regulated Enforcement’s specific responsibilities to support RED’s efforts to facilitate compliance with regulations, it also processes Chapter 27 variance applications, and administrative review petitions.
