Fleet Services No. 2 (FS2) features state-of-the-art maintenance equipment to better serve its existing and future customers. This facility provides three unique services unlike its sister facilities, Fleet Services No. 3 and Fleet Services No. 8.
 
The General Repair Shop provides vehicle maintenance on all types of light duty vehicles. There are two Preventative Maintenance (PM) services performed routinely by Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified technicians; 1) a PMA is an oil change and 2) a PMC is an oil change with a brake inspection. Fleet Services No. 2 is incorporated with two Preventive Maintenance pit service areas to expedite vehicles. PMAs are generally performed within 20 minutes, and while this fast service provides customers the opportunity to wait for their vehicles, a personal computer with Internet access is available for customers to utilize in our customer waiting room. Complimentary coffee is provided and a variety of magazines are available for customers to browse. This facility also has a state-of-the-art back-up generator system which will self activate within 10 seconds if loss of power occurs.
 
The Electric shop handles high-tech electrical repairs and maintenance on Fire/Rescue vehicles. This shop also installs emergency lighting, sirens, and other emergency vehicle electronic apparatus. The Electric Shop has its own alternator/starter rebuilding program which Emergency Vehicle Technicians (EVT) and ASE certified technicians rebuild a wide variety of components.
 
Fleet Services No. 2 performs fire rescue vehicle maintenance at its Fire Shop. This maintenance includes PMs, chassis repairs, pump repairs and replacements, valves, aerial, engine, transmission and various warranty repairs. The Fire Shop has EVT/ASE certified technicians specializing in fire truck and rescue unit maintenance. A fully outfitted service truck is on duty to perform daily road calls and PMs at the fire stations. Fleet also provides after hour service, 24/7, in support of the fire department.
 
The Parts Room employs two full-time parts specialists. A wide variety of mechanical parts, electrical parts, and building supplies are stored in a spacious air-conditioned parts room. Parts are stocked for emergency vehicles, passenger cars and heavy trucks. Parts personnel are also Certified County Buyers and have access to all vendors registered with the County's Purchasing Division. This affords the Fleet Services Parts Section the utmost in flexibility in acquiring all materials needed to "Keep the Wheels of Government Turning."
 
Fleet Services No. 2 employs one maintenance supervisor, two shop foremen, one store supervisor and one account clerk II. Administration personnel are also ASE/EVT certified. The account clerk provides administrative support to all personnel at this facility, as well as handling the accounting requirements of our shop. The store supervisor's duties include the supervision of inventory personnel and auditing the physical inventory in the parts room.​

Fleet Services No. 3 specialize in the repair of general purpose equipment, including heavy duty trucks and construction equipment of all sizes. This facility contains a heavy duty tire shop, a body shop, and a lawn equipment and small engine shop which enable it to complete service to all the Broward County fleet.
 
It's also the site of the Division's bi-annual auction (June and September) of surplus vehicles and equipment. The auction is open to the public. The Division recovers approximately 25 to 30 percent of the original purchase price of the equipment auctioned.​

This facility is equipped to handle some of Broward County’s largest and heaviest equipment such as the Caterpillar D8 bulldozer and large pay loaders for earth moving operations. A seven ton overhead Harrington crane is on site to lift heavy equipment that needs to be serviced off the ground. This shop is also equipped to work on heavy duty trucks, tractors, light duty trucks and passenger cars.

Fleet Service No. 8, located at the outreaches of the County on SR27, supports Solid Waste, Facility Maintenance, Parks and Recreation, Mosquito Control, Traffic Engineering and other Broward County divisions that are in need of vehicle service in our territory.

Our veteran team of employees at the facility has an exceptional reputation for repairing vehicles in a timely manner while performing a thorough inspection to “ Keep the wheels of government turning.” ​
