Update 11 - April 6, 2012
  1. Local Go SOLAR kick off meeting is scheduled for April 19, 2012, 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. in the Broward County Commission Chambers (Room 422), Government Center East, 115 S. Andrews Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale  33301.  The agenda is still under development, but will include speakers from Florida Solar Energy Center and Florida Power & Light, a project status update, and opportunities for questions.  Please extend an invitation to anyone you think might be interested.
  2. Invite letters to the kick off meeting having gone out to all partner city mayors, partner city points-of-contact (POC), Go SOLAR grant supporters, and will go out to all city managers early next week.
  3. Kick off invite letters to city POCs included a municipal time sheet.  POCs, please complete the timesheet for March 2012 and return to Meoshi Jackson (mejackson@broward.org) by April 13, 2012.  This information is used to document city in-kind services.  Email Meoshi with any questions.  Thanks.
  4. Solar Contractor workshop scheduled for April 12, 2012, 9:00 – 10:30 in the Government Center West Hearing Room, 1 N. University Drive, Plantation  33324.  The purpose of the workshop is to obtain contractor input on the Go SOLAR program.  For more information, contact Maribel Feliciano (mfeliciano@broward.org).
  5. Next Standardized Permitting Subcommittee meeting scheduled for April 23, 2012, 10:00 – 11:30 in the Government Center West Hearing Room, 1 N. University Drive, Plantation  33324.  Subcommittee continues to solidify permitting solution.  For more information, contact Maribel Feliciano (mfeliciano@broward.org).
  6. Next Building Officials status meeting scheduled for April 26, 8:30 – 10:30.  Location TBD.
  7. Solar Power International 12 Conference is coming to Orlando, September 10 – 13, 2012.
  8. Broward staff continues to work on rebranding from Sunshot (not allowed by DOE) to the new brand Go SOLAR – Broward Rooftop Solar Challenge.  New brand should be rolled out within the next week.
