Held on Saturday, October 15, 2022,  "Pioneer Day" is an annual honorific event sponsored by the Broward County Historic Preservation Board in recognition of residents of Broward, who, through their professional or business, civic, educational, historic, artistic or inspirational contributions, have made an impact to the local communities.

Held by the Historic Preservation Board and the Cultural Division in conjunction with the City of Wilton Manors, the event rotates year-to-year among Broward's 31 municipalities.

The 2022 event, which took place at The Venue, began with music supplied by South Florida Symphony Orchestra. A Presentation of Colors by Fort Lauderdale High School Navy Junior ROTC was accompanied by our National Anthem sung by Adrian Drummond. The event was introduced by Scott Newton, Mayor of Wilton Manors and Broward County Mayor Michael Udine, followed by a welcome by Sheldon McCartney, Chair of the Broward County Historic Preservation Board.
