Homeowner Programs

After the Intake Form is received and reviewed, a full application with a list of required documents will be sent to the applicants. 

Service provided on a first-come, first-qualified, first-served basis until available funds are expended.​

​Homeowner Programs

Designed to help preserve Broward County's affordable housing stock, these ​programs-Minor Home Repair, Barrier Free/Special Needs, Water/Sewer Connection and Foreclosure Prevention-are for qualified homeowners of owner-occupied single-family properties. Eligible properties include detached single-family homes, townhomes, villas, or condominiums. ​Duplexes, triplexes, or mobile homes are ineligible.

Minor Home Repair Program

This program provides wind mitigation and hurricane hardening services, prevents further deterioration, reduces energy loss and infiltration of outside elements of owner-occupied dwellings. Eligible improvements may include roofs, doors, windows and air conditioning. Eligible homeowners' gross household income may not exceed 80% of the Area Median Income based on household size, and must be current on their mortgage, property taxes, and property insurance. A ten (10) year deferred payment loan will be recorded on the improved property. Coconut Creek residents will have a fifteen (15) year deferred payment loan recorded on the improved property.
 

Barrier Free/Special Needs Housing Program

This program provides disabled Broward County residents with a deferred payment loan for housing modifications and barrier removal to improve accessibility, and provide for health and safety repairs which allow the residents continued occupancy and to maintain their independence. Health and safety repairs may include wind mitigation and hurricane hardening unrelated to accessibility and barrier removal.

Eligible homeowners' gross household income may not exceed 80% of the Area Median Income based on household size, and must be  current on their mortgage, property taxes, and property insurance A ten (10) year deferred payment loan will be recorded on the improved property. Coconut Creek residents will have a fifteen (15) year deferred payment loan recorded on the improved property.​

​Water/Sewer Connection Program 

 This Program allows eligible homeowners to connect to the available sanitary sewer system and abandon the existing Septic system. Eligible homeowners' gross household income may not exceed 80% of the Area Median Income based on household size, and homeowners must be current on their mortgage, property taxes, and property insurance. A ten (10) year deferred payment loan will be recorded on the improved property.
