Teen Empowerment Summit, 6th Annual
​Saturday, December 14, 8AM-5PM
Broward College - A. Hugh Adams Central Campus
For students in grades 6-12

Free - Teens must pre-register in person at the information desk of any Broward County Library. Parental/guardian authorization is required for all teens under 18.

Activities include:

  • breakout sessions
  • college tours
  • interactive games
  • guest speakers

Event also includes refreshments, books, incentives, t-shirts, and opportunities to win great prizes!

The theme for 2019 is "Explore Your PATH," with "PATH" as an acronym for Passion, Action Transformation, and Harmony.

  • PATH breakout sessions include hands-on exposure to the visual and performing arts, computer technology, medical technology, music technology and a visit to the Institute of Public Safety (IPS), located on campus.
  • Special guests include Broward County Library Director Kelvin Watson, Yamilca Gomez of Florida Virtual Schools, Darius V. Daughtry, poet, playwright, director and author of And the Walls Came Tumbling, and Chanice Lee, author of Young Revolutionary: A Teen's Guide to Activism.

The 2019 Summit will start at select Broward County Libraries and transition to Broward College Central campus via Broward County Public School Transportation Services.
