Summer Learning Program

Theme: Unearth a Story

June 1 - August 8, 2026

The summer learning program is essential to addressing the "summer slide" and helps create a large community of readers over the out of school time.

Summer reading promotes literacy:
  • Early Literacy Program - preparing children for success by developing early language skills
  • Children's Program - helping young children build reading and language skills.
  • Teen Program - motivating teens to read and discuss literature.
  • Adult Program - encouraging adults to experience the joy of reading.

Summer events will include book discussions and book related programs (trivia, book inspired crafts, etc.), cultural programs (like musical performances and theatrical productions), wellness programs, science education programs, and more.

Fun free programs all summer! Readers have the opportunity to win prizes from a variety of local community organizations and businesses, such as Museum of Discovery and Science, Young at Art Museum, Florida Panthers, Pirate Bluefoot Adventures, Miami Zoo, MadArts, Butterfly World and more.
