  • ​Drill holes in the bottom of tire swings, garbage cans, and recycling bins 
  • Tip standing water from flower pots, buckets, pool toys, pet dishes, and wheelbarrows. 
  • Turn over and drain kiddie pools, pool covers, and garbage cans.
  • Fix or replace broken window screens and leaky spigots and outdoor faucets. 
  • Unclog and drain rain gutters, flat roofs, and roof drains. 
  • Once a week, flush out plants that hold water such as bromeliads and palm fronds. 
  • Treat outdoor items that can’t be dumped, like bird baths, rain barrels, water gardens and cisterns with larvicide.
