Turtle Walk Programs

Some local organizations offer nighttime guided sea turtle walks which give participants the chance to safely observe a nesting turtle on the beach. Reservations for these programs are required for attendance due to their limited capacity and popularity. Walks are typically offered in the months of June-July but the dates, start times, and end times of these walks vary. Additionally, there may be a charge for participation and the events may require walking on beach sand. Some organizations may have age restrictions for children as well. Please remember there are NO GUARANTEES that you will see a nesting turtle on these walks, but they are still a great experience even if no turtles are seen! Also, when choosing a date you might like to attend a walk, please note there is no scientific evidence to suggest that turtles nest in coordination with specific moon phases, tide cycles, or weather.
