You can create a NatureScape Broward landscape in two ways:
1. Certify through the National Wildlife Federation
2. Complete the FFL Official Home Landscape Recognition (UF/IFAS Florida Yards & Neighborhoods program.)
Once you complete either program, your NatureScape will be added to this map.
National Wildlife Federation
National Wildlife Federation (NWF) has been helping people nurture wildlife for over 75 years. A sustainable garden that helps wildlife is created by providing the four basic components of habitat. Certify your balcony container garden, home, business or schoolyard directly online at
NWF Garden For Wildlife - Schools are free to certify!
Community Wildlife Habitat®
A Community Wildlife Habitat® is a community that provides habitat for wildlife in cities, towns, neighborhoods and counties. The following municipalities (green on the map) are certified Community Wildlife Habitats:
Coconut Creek, Cooper City, Coral Springs, Town of Davie, Hollywood, Lighthouse Point, Oakland Park, Parkland, Plantation, Pompano Beach, Wilton Manors, Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, Town of Southwest Ranches and Sunrise.
The following municipalities (blue on the map) are registered Community Wildlife Habitats and are working to complete their goals:
Deerfield Beach, Hallandale Beach, Lauderdale Lakes, Lauderhill, North Lauderdale, Miramar, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea and Margate.
Broward County, certified in 2005, encourages all of its municipalities to become certified Community Wildlife Habitats.
