Broward County's Public Works and Environmental Services Department (PWESD) is responsible for advancing the resilience of our community through diverse environmental, planning, housing, regulatory and community-oriented programs. Responsibilities also encompass the design, construction and maintenance of all the County's buildings, as well as the provision of a potable water supply and wastewater collection for unincorporated Broward County residents; and recycling, and disposal of all solid waste and trash generated in Broward County.​​
