In collaboration with the United Way of Broward County, Broward Sheriff's Office, and Plantation Police Department, the first Born Learning (STEAM) Trail to be installed in the world was at Plantation Heritage Park in October 2025. There are eight STEAM-inspired signs that focus on science, technology, engineering, arts, and math along the trail.
The purpose of the trail is to provide free tools that equip parents, caregivers, and the community with early STEAM learning and observational opportunities for young children.
The materials and signage to create the trail were provided by the United Way of Broward County. The Broward Sheriff's Office, Plantation Police Department, and Project EmPOWER (a United Way initiative) provided volunteers to install the educational artwork and signs.
We are hoping for future installations in our other parks so this free educational opportunities can be available to more childrena and their parents.
