What the U.S. commonly calls soccer, is know as football in other parts of the world. There are many common rules between the two sports including playing with two teams; a defined area to play the game; scoring goals or points by moving the ball to the opposing team's end of the field and into a goal area or over a line; and players using only their bodies to move the ball -- there are no bats or sticks.
