The Nature of Long Key Nature Center

Long Key encompasses some of the most significant archaeological, historical, and ecological resources in Broward County. The natural beauty of the oak hammock and surrounding wetlands is outstanding thanks to the site's abundant birds, butterflies, and other wildlife.

Because of the great diversity of habitats at Long Key, a variety of plant and wildlife species can be found here. Below you will find links to species lists of the most common plants and animals that can be found at Long Key. We encourage visitors to “LOOK UP!" and “TRY TO FIND ME!" to see how many species you can spot. For more information, stop by our Visitors Center and Exhibit Hall or email LongKey@Broward.org.
