The Broward Heart Project concluded on September 30, 2025. Check back for updates on continued opportunities for free heart tests to help save lives in Broward County.
What is the Broward Heart Project?
Heart disease is the leading cause of death worldwide. In 2023, at the request of County Commissioner Mark D. Bogen, the Broward County Board of County Commissioners funded a $10 million pilot project to offer free preventive cardiac tests to qualified Broward County residents at local facilities, including Baptist Health, Broward Health, Cleveland Clinic and Holy Cross Health.
The Broward County Commission reminds residents it is important for everyone, especially adults ages 45 – 70, to take appropriate steps for preventive health care. Consult with your personal health care professional to determine whether and which preventive care is appropriate for you.
Eligibility requirements for the next program providing free heart tests to Broward County residents will be announced soon. During the interim, please email HeartProject@Broward.org if you would like to be contacted via email as soon as application for the program is available.
