Procedure Adopted by the Value Adjustment Board, Timeframe for Request for Legal Review:  At the October 8, 2018, Value Adjustment Board (VAB) meeting, the Board approved a new procedure to set a timeframe for petitioners to submit a request for a legal review of Special Magistrates' worksheets by the VAB Attorney.  The Board determined that a petitioner must provide its written concerns as to where the petitioner feels the Special Magistrate made a legal error when making his/her decision.  A petitioner must file the request for legal review to the VAB within 15 calendar days from the date that the worksheet is mailed. This policy is effective immediately, beginning with the 2018 tax cycle.  Requests may be emailed to vab@broward.org.

If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the board, agency or commission with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing, he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based, F.S. 286.0105.
