Petitions may only be filed on forms developed and approved by the Department of Revenue (DOR), DR 486. Petitions are available at the Value Adjustment Board office, online at the DOR website and on the Property Appraiser’s website, or you may download the petition here. You can also file online.
Petitions must be received by the VAB within 25 days of the TRIM notice mailing by the Property Appraiser. Deadline to file timely for the 2024 Tax Cycle is September 17, 2025.
The VAB cannot extend the petition filing deadline. Petitions received after the deadline date will be considered late and will be returned to the petitioner. A petitioner that believes he/she had good cause for not filing a petition, timely, may request in writing that his/her petition be accepted late and document the good cause/extenuating circumstances justifying the late filing. The request will be considered by the VAB Attorney.
Please file your petition with the Value Adjustment Board, at 115 S. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301, Room 120. Hearings begin in October and continue until all hearings are completed.
