South Regional Courthouse Masterplan

The Broward County Construction Management Division is working to complete the pre-design phase for a new Southern Regional Courthouse campus. The Pre-Design Study scope of work includes the development of space programming for thirteen (13) Departments, and providing pre-conceptual design massing diagrams based upon the space programming and existing site analysis. Some of the unique pre-conceptual design features include the followng:

  • Building faces north to harvest northern sunlight and prominently fronts Hollywood Boulevard and South Circle Drive

  • A central courtyard connects pedestrians, parking garage, employees, and visitors to a single secured point of entry

  • Parking is adjacent to the Courthouse and accessible to the front entrance without requiring street crossing and with overhead weather protection

  • Separate entrance may be created for other Broward County Administrative Offices directly accessible from the garage and building entrance courtyard

  • A pedestrian bridge from the third level of parking provides direct access to designated entrance of Broward County Administrative Offices

This project is being planned as a high energy efficient LEED certified campus with WELL Building Standard principles.
