A new performing arts and cultural center designed and constructed by the City of Lauderhill on a 2.4-acre parcel within the County’s Central Broward Regional Park (CBRP). The facility is a 10,000-square-foot, County-operated public library and a City-operated performing arts/cultural center facility with a 1,200-seat theater. (Commission District 9) An interlocal agreement was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on February 23, 2010. The County contributed $5,800,000 in County Safe Parks Bond funding as County’s total reimbursement to City for the construction by City of a stand-alone cultural center in CBRP. Broward County contributed $2,850,000 to the City for programming, design, construction and management of the new library project.
