State Attorney

The Office of the State Attorney for the 17th Judicial Circuit enforces state laws through prosecution of individuals accused of committing criminal offenses. It represents the State in certain civil court proceedings and serves as legal advisor to the Broward County Grand Jury. The State Attorney’s office also supervises a Victim Advocate Unit that provides case management services to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence.

This office is not an agency of the Broward County Commission, however the County Commission owns and maintains the facilities it operates in, and funds some operations of the Courts, State Attorney’s Office and Public Defender’s Office.
