Ms. LaPlant has more than 40 years of experience in the legal and government arena, with more than 35 years spent in a Government Practice Group Administrator/Executive Administration role with the law firm Becker & Poliakoff. Ms. LaPlant's role encompasses city, local, state and federal government teams, as well as supporting other practice areas within the law firm. Her duties include communicating directly with clients, planning and organizing internal and external events, and interaction with city, county, state and federal government officials. Ms. LaPlant also has experience as a trainer, traveling to the firm's different locations training new and existing employees.
In
addition to her role with Becker & Poliakoff, Ms. LaPlant has held a
variety of positions within South Florida community
organizations. Ms. LaPlant is active in a number
of charitable organizations including volunteering for Women in Distress
and the Boys & Girls Club, was Team Recognition Chair for the American
Cancer Relay for Life 2014. She is presently an alternate Board member on the City
of Coconut Creek’s Planning
& Zoning Board.
Her past board experiences include: Member of the City of Coconut Creek's Education Advisory Board; Member of the City of Coconut Creek's Planning & Zoning Board, Board Member of the Animal Care Advisory Committee of
Broward County, Member of the School Board of Broward Parent Community
Involvement Committee, Member of the City of Coconut Creek Environmental
Committee, Member of the Women's Club of Coconut Creek, Board Member for
Brookwood Florida, a home for underprivileged girls and Board Member of the
City of Coconut Creek Re-Districting Board.
