The Broward County Human Rights Act gives Human Rights Section jurisdiction over three areas of unlawful discrimination:• Employment (for employers who employ 5-14 employees)• Housing (involving the sale or rental of housing with 4 or more units located in Broward County)• Public Accommodation (all services provided to the public)It also oversees the Human Rights Advisory Board.Unlawful discrimination occurs when one’s rights are infringed upon based on a protected class identified under federal, state and local law.
