Central and West Wing Asbestos Abatement and Demolition

The Central and West wings will both be demolished to make way for the construction of a 500-car garage and an outdoor plaza. Asbestos must be removed from both buildings prior to the demolition. The asbestos abatement will be conducted in accordance with Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and will be tightly monitored and controlled to ensure safety. Two different contractors will be conducting independent air quality testing during the process and all staff located in the adjoining East Wing will be isolated from the asbestos removal

The asbestos removal is expected to take approximately six weeks, followed by the demolition of both buildings. Completion is expected in late 2018 or early 2019.
