Thank you for visiting Broward County's Commission District 7 website.

The Broward County Commission is the legislative and policy-making branch of County government, and is comprised of nine members elected from single member-districts. Commission District 7 encompasses all or portions of Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Dania Beach, Davie, Wilton Manors and Lazy Lake.

The County Commission appoints a County Administrator, a County Attorney, a Commission Auditor and numerous advisory and regulatory boards.

The Commission meets in formal session the first four Tuesdays of each month at 10 a.m. in Room 422 of the Broward County governmental center. Public Hearing broadcasts begin at 2 p.m. Meetings can be viewed via live Webcast on Video Central, and cable and digital subscriber line systems providing live coverage, and rebroadcast coverage on Friday beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Mother’s Day Food Distribution
Florida Representative Katie Edwards and Farm Share will be hosting a Mother’s Day Food Distribution to assist families in need on Saturday, May 9th from 10AM to 1PM at Plantation High School, 6901 NW 16th St. in Plantation.  Fresh produce, frozen meats and non-perishable items will be distributed. Volunteers are welcome!

Mayor Tim Ryan Hosts FLL Information Session
County Mayor Tim Ryan hosted an Airport Information Session at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Broward County Convention Center. Topics included airport expansion, the Noise Mitigation Program, Sales Assistance and Conveyance & Release Program, and the continuing construction at the airport. View the presentation.

Interested in Serving on the Charter Review Commission?
If you're interested in serving on the Broward County Charter Review Commission, I'd like to hear from you.  In order to do so you must submit an application by May 15, 2015.  Appointments will be confirmed at the County Commission meeting on June 2, 2015. The Charter Review Commission is authorized and empowered to conduct a comprehensive study of any or all phases of county government, including significant, regional, long-term and complex issues facing Broward County in the coming decade.The application form is now available at Broward.org/charter.
