  About Us
 

The mission of the Broward County Emergency Management Division is to safeguard lives and property through effective emergency management by coordination of public and private resources, development of response plans, implementation of emergency operations, and preparation through training and education. This Division:

  • manages all emergency preparedness program areas within the County
  • develops and implements comprehensive disaster planning, mitigation, and response activities within the County, under the provisions of Florida Statutes
  • develops and maintains emergency plans for all types of natural and man-made hazards
  • provides the analysis and recommendations necessary to make decisions that will effectively save lives and protect property in emergencies
