Broward County Closings For Thanksgiving Holiday 

Broward County Government offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 27th and 28th, for the Thanksgiving holiday. See a full schedule of holiday hours here.

The Southwest Regional Landfill, located at 7101 SW 205 Ave., will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 27th and 28th. The Landfill will be open on Saturday, November 29th, from 8AM to 4PM.

In Unincorporated Broward communities, there will be no garbage, bulk, or recycling collections on Thanksgiving Day, November 27th. Regularly scheduled collections will resume on Friday, November 28th. Residents of all other cities should contact your city or hauler directly for scheduling information.


User Updates for Household Hazardous Waste Disposal at Broward Residential Drop-Off Centers

Effective October 1, 2014, Broward County Residential Drop-Off Centers are open to residents of the following cities that have Participation Agreements for the disposal of household hazardous waste and used electronics: Cooper City, Dania Beach, Hollywood, Lauderdale Lakes, Lighthouse Point, Margate, Parkland, Pembroke Park, Sea Ranch Lakes, Unincorporated Broward, West Park, Weston and Wilton Manors.

If your city is not listed and you have questions regarding the disposal of household hazardous waste and electronics, contact your Public Works Department.

Adopt A Street signThe Adopt-A-Street program has a new look, and so do some Broward County streets as volunteers make a clean sweep. In 2014, volunteers removed 2,800 pounds of litter from 24 miles of streets.
