Permit Renewal

A permit remains valid as long as work begins within 180 days from the date issued and continues in a substantial manner until completion of the job. A permit will expire if work does not start within 180 days or if work starts and then stops or is abandoned for 90 days.

Don't let your permit expire. Inspections can be scheduled online.

You must contact us to see if you may renew your permit or if you must apply for a new one. Both actions require additional fees. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the building owner to make certain the permit is either renewed or that a new permit is applied for. If you or your contractor allow a permit to expire and do not apply for renewal, Broward County may place a lien on your property.
