Enjoy an amazing evening of electrifying stories and and a virtuoso violin performance at Moonlight Tales, our annual song-and-story cabaret for adults. Complimentary refreshments will be served, courtesy of the Friends of Fort Lauderdale Libraries. This year's event is held in conjunction with One Book One Broward literacy initiative (through February 28), thematically connects to the novel The Seed Keeper by Diane Wilson.

Monica Shang, director of South Florida's Chinese Performing Arts Group, will emcee and the event will include the following performers:

  • Storyteller, Lucrece Louisdhon-Louinis: Through interactive storytelling, Lucrèce Louisdhon-Louinis explores Haitian heritage and imagination through powerful, personal tales. For over three decades, she has served as tireless cultural advocates, promoting Haitian music, dance, and story nationally.

  • Storyteller, Red Wordz: Frankie "Red" Rosso, is a poet, dancer, and radio personality known as Red Wordz. Her passion for poetry and Spoken Word have led her to hosting her own radio and television talk show, RedLighTv LIVE. Red hosts several open mics and teaches hip-hop, bachata and fusion dance classes through her project RedDance.

  • Musician, Yalyen Savignon: A child prodigy born in Havana, Cuba, Yalyen Savignon has performed with acclaimed symphony orchestras. She is an avid chamber music performer who has given recitals and taught violin and chamber music in the United States, Cuba, Chile and Jamaica. She is also the President and Executive Director of the Volta Music Foundation.​
