Project Overview

The Broadview Park Green Infrastructure Stormwater Drainage Project will maximize on-site infiltration, storage, groundwater recharge and treatment of runoff. These improvements will reduce pollutant discharges to receiving waterways, decrease flooding, and minimize downstream erosion and sedimentation within the stormwater system.

Project Scope

The project delivers a comprehensive stormwater system upgrade throughout Broadview Park, including:

  • Installation of approximately 50,000 cubic feet of underground exfiltration trenches to store and infiltrate stormwater.
  • Construction of 2 new stormwater pump stations to increase system capacity and reduce flood duration.
  • Replacement of 2,500 linear feet of undersized and aging stormwater infrastructure.
  • Installation of 1,000 linear feet of new stormwater pipe.
  •  Addition of permeable asphalt pavement and permeable concrete sidewalks to reduce surface runoff.
  • Restoration of landscaping and incorporation of green infrastructure features that mimic natural drainage and improve groundwater recharge.

These improvements work together to reduce surface flooding, shorten recovery time after storms, and improve overall system performance during heavy rainfall events.

Short-Term (During Construction)

  • Temporary traffic pattern adjustments and localized construction activity.
  • Maintenance of traffic plans will be in place to preserve access to businesses and residences.
  • The County will provide ongoing coordination and communication to minimize disruptions.ng heavy rainfall events.

Long-Term Benefits:

  • Reduced flooding frequency and duration.
  • Improved access and mobility, including ADA-compliant sidewalks and safer pedestrian routes.
  • Greater reliability during storm events, reducing road closures and emergency response disruptions.
  • Enhanced neighborhood stability and attractiveness, supporting long-term economic vitality, reinvestment.

This project is a key component of Broward County's broader resilience strategy, ensuring Broadview Park remains a reliable place to live, work, and do business well into the future.

Area 5 Update
Construction Status
Drainage installation, roadway paving, and restoration activities are complete. Temporary striping has
been placed on the roadway. Permanent striping will be installed once the new asphalt has had time to
cure. The project is nearing completion, and residents are already benefiting from the improvements.

Property Restoration
Any damage to existing driveways, sidewalks, sod, or irrigation systems caused by construction will be restored by the Broward County Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division contractor.

If you experience a broken irrigation pipe or sprinkler head, landscape or hardscape damage related to construction, please contact the Public Information Officer at Quest Marketing and Communications. The team will coordinate directly with the contractor to ensure timely repairs.
