Thank you for visiting Broward County's Commission District 1 website. The Broward County Commission is the legislative and policy-making branch of County government, and is comprised of nine members elected from single member-districts. Commission District 1 encompasses Broward Municipal Service District (SW Regional Landfill), County Regional Facility (Water Conservation Area), Miramar (part), Pembroke Pines (part), Southwest Ranches (part), and Weston.
The County Commission appoints a County Administrator, a County Attorney, a Commission Auditor, and numerous advisory and regulatory boards. Commission meetings are scheduled every other Tuesday at 10AM in Room 422 of the Governmental Center. They are streamed live and televised live on participating cable channels.

Many of Broward County’s Human Services programs are supported through the county budget, which includes property tax revenue. Human Services include behavioral health support, homelessness services, family programs, senior assistance, and disability services. These programs help connect residents with important community resources.
