Park Locations

Boaters Park is a 7.5-acre waterfront, linear site along the Dania Cut-off Canal. The park is divided into two parts: the westernmost that is accessible by private boats only, and the easternmost, which is now accessible by private boat or by land. There are no boat ramps at this park.

This neighborhood park is located within the Broward Municipal Services District. The community center offers free senior programs, for ages 50+. with field trips, socializing, special events, speakers, and more. Line dancing classes are also offered twice weekly.

Join in the County's Relief Efforts for Venezuela, which are going on right now in July 2026. Drop-off donations in the park office. Refer to this list​ for acceptable items. Donations are accepted daily from 9AM to 5PM.​ 

Opened in 1989, this 175.2-acre park has established itself as one of Broward County Parks' primary centers for athletic activity. This is only fitting for a park named after one of the top athletes in South Florida history. The park’s velodrome is one of three in the southeastern U.S. and only one in Florida. Perhaps surprisingly for such a busy park, it is also a site on the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail

Founded through a partnership with Broward County Parks and Recreation and Nova Southeastern University in 2017, the Marine Environmental Education Center (MEEC) at Carpenter House has something for all visitors, near and far, to connect with: South Florida history, indoor/outdoor conservation exhibits, animal residents, daily public programs, and special events/workshops.

• ​​​​​​The Carpenter House - The MEEC is located at the historic Carpenter House property that serves as visitors' main point of entry and starting point for all beachside adventures. Once upstairs, tour this "living snapshot" of mid-century South Florida, as well as enjoy daily programs and a variety of terrestrial and aquatic animals.
• Sea Turtle Habitat - Did you know our sea turtle sanctuary is the Carpenter family's original swimming pool? Now outfitted with a cutting-edge life support system, visit the pool to see how NSU team members care for its permanent residents with sea turtle talks and unique enrichment devices/activities. Sea turtle feedings are facilitated at 3:30PM daily at the pool.​​​​​​​
• Courtyard Exhibits - Discover a variety of hands-on interactive exhibits that explore sea turtle conservation, learning how humans are helping local wildlife through informed decision-making (like innovative coastal lighting). Then, enjoy eco-art installations that merge environmental stewardship with creativity.​​​
• Education Building - Venture inside the National Save the Sea Turtle Foundation's education building (formerly the Carpenter family's cabana and guest house) to investigate how NSU, Broward County, and various nonprofits come together to help protect marine animals globally. This includes tracking devices, technology updates, and rehabilitation centers.
• Gift Shop - Take a piece of the sea with you before leaving the MEEC by choosing a keepsake from the gift shop. Items include branded clothing, sustainable jewelry, themed home goods, educational books, creations from local artists, and more. Monies generated here directly support daily care for our animal residents and general MEEC operations.

One of the system’s most diverse sites offers a sprawling water park with four 50-foot-tall waterslides and a lazy river, a large campground, AllGolf​ – a family golfing center, a tennis complex, and one of our largest special event areas, with a capacity of up to 22,500.

This vibrant park is known for its cultural carnivals, music festivals, and state-of-the-art athletic facilities. It’s in the heart of one of Broward County’s most culturally diverse areas, servicing Lauderhill, Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale Lakes, Oakland Park, Plantation, Sunrise, and Wilton Manors. Dogs are allowed on a leash six-feet long or shorter but they are not allowed in the stadium.

The scrub habitat that characterizes this site represents one of the rarest and most ecologically sensitive communities in South Florida. Urban development has left less than two percent of Broward County’s original sand pine scrub community, making it a plant community that is difficult to recognize today.

This site is mostly open sand allowing for early successional species to grow, which in scrub results in high species diversity. Common scrub species found on site are pawpaw (Asimina reticulata), silkgrass (Pityopsis graminifolia), and hairy jointweed (Polygonella ciliata). The only recorded peninsula mole skink (Eumeces egregius onocrepis) in Broward County was observed at this site.

Our only island park is a nature-oriented refuge rich in both regional history and flora and fauna. Located on the Intracoastal Waterway at Hillsboro Boulevard and accessible only by boat. A free shuttle runs from the mainland every hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

This site was specifically purchased as a "green space" and it is primarily intended to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the general area, to accommodate local foot traffic, and to facilitate recreational activities such as walking. The site is located in the Broward Municipal Services District.

One of the county’s earliest regional parks is this centrally located Designated Urban Wilderness Area with a campground and a disc golf course. Its 46.6 acres include cypress trees 250 years old and 100 feet tall.
