This is responsible technical and administrative work assisting in property management for the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (an FAA 139 Airport) and the North Perry Airport (a general aviation facility).

Work involves responsibility for assisting with managing and coordinating a variety of property management functions. Duties include lease and concession administration and monitoring, tenant relations and leasehold inspections. Assignments are received either orally or in writing. Work is performed with some independence under the general supervision of an administrative superior. Performance is reviewed periodically through conferences, written reports and evaluation of results obtained.


Assists with the development of policies, procedures and priorities to meet established goals of the Aviation Department's Business Division.

Assists with the development of leases, development agreements, permits, amendments and other property agreements for office buildings, concessionaires, warehouses, land and other facilities at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International and North Perry Airports.

Inspects, evaluates and monitors the Airports' leaseholds and facilities for compliance with terms and conditions contained in leases and property agreements, and with established departmental policies and FAA regulations.

Determines non-compliance and makes recommendations to an administrative superior for corrective action.

Initiates and develops responsible contacts with Airport tenants to ensure favorable working relationships among departmental administration, tenants, airport clients and the community.

Inputs records of all lease agreements for property and space rentals; identifies effective dates and termination dates, description of property, annual rental obligations, company name and any special agreements.

Prepares special reports as required.

Attends conferences and public and professional meetings.

Performs related work as required.


Knowledge of the principles and practices of real property management, commercial and industrial property leasing and contract management.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of business and public administration.

Knowledge of various Airport properties including nature, condition, location and potential use.

Knowledge of all federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to the leasing of real property at airports.

Knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of supervision, organization and administration.

Ability to assist with the negotiation and preparation of complex leases and property agreements for the leasing of real property.

Ability to express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.

Ability to carry out complex oral and written instructions.

Ability to analyze facts and exercise sound judgment in decision making.

Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity in full accord with the letter and spirit of Broward County's Ethics and Conflict of Interest policies.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers, elected and appointed officials and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, gender, disability, political affiliation or sexual orientation.


Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in public or business administration, airport management or related field; two (2) years experience in property management and lease administration; or any equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.


Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License.
