This position entails administrative and sports development related work in promoting the Sports group business for Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau in Broward County.
Work involves performing administrative tasks in assisting the Sales Director and Sales Manager and relieving him/her of routine clerical duties.
Work requires the exercise of initiative, independent judgment, and discretion in handling delegated administrative details.
Instructions are received from an administrative superior on new assignments and policy matters, and advice and assistance are normally available.
Work is reviewed upon completion for adherence to established policies, procedures and results obtained.
Assists with plans and coordinates destination previews for event decision makers to promote Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County.
Coordinates sales missions and tradeshows; prepares direct payment vouchers for tradeshows registrations and other necessary arrangements.
Coordinates travel arrangements and prepares travel voucher, prior to traveling date and summarizes upon completion, record procurement card expenses.
Coordinates appreciation awards, notifies recipients, coordinates time and date for the ceremony; selects and orders awards, writes each proclamation.
Arranges and host hotel site inspections for event planners and attend site inspections when needed.
Attends client and other hospitality functions to represent GFLCVB.
Takes minutes at meetings, transcribes and distributes information as appropriate; maintains mailing lists and client base in CRM.
Maintains and analyzes detailed budget reports for convention sales activities; maintains booking for the Convention Center through CRM.
Coordinates convention sales monthly productivity reports and records all Convention Center  business in log books.
Coordinates monthly reports from each section and prepares packages for distribution.
Performs related work as required.
Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of marketing/sales techniques related to sports travel.
Thoroughknowledge of the competing sports travel and convention destinations.
Ability to prepare budgets, reports and supportive recommendations.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honestly and integrity in full accord with the letter and spirit of Broward County's Ethic and Conflict of Interest policies.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers, elected and appointed officials and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, marital status, political affiliation, familial status, disability, sexual orientation, pregnancy, or gender identity and expression.

Associate degree or two (2) years college with major course work in marketing, business administration or related field, and four (4) years experience in tourism or sports related marketing and/or sales, or any equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
