|AUDIO-VIDEO PRODUCTION SPECIALIST|
NATURE OF WORK
This is a video production position with some audio-visual technical support duties.
Work involves the directing, producing, shooting and editing of video productions on various topics including but not limited to documentaries, educational, lectures, meetings, marketing, press conferences, promotional, public service announcements and commercials, presentations and training. Work also includes developing public relations materials, providing support for streaming live video productions, providing technical audio-visual meeting room support and maintaining audio-video production equipment such as cameras, microphones, tripods and lights. Independent judgment is exercised in the development of production procedures. Completed assignments are reviewed for compliance with desired objectives.
Provides audio-video expertise in the planning and production of videos on subjects such as staff training, marketing and promotional initiatives, special events, meetings, lectures, public service announcements and commercials, documentaries, video news releases and video segments and programs for website streaming and television.
Shoots and edits audio-video footage; exports videos to current digital formats for television broadcast and website video streaming.
Directs and coaches on-camera talent, spokespeople and presenters.
Assists with meeting room setup and maintenance of audio-visual equipment (projectors, monitors, microphones, phone conference systems).
Performs basic maintenance on audio-video equipment.
Assists in developing public relations and marketing materials including still photography.
Performs related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Knowledge of and the demonstrated ability to use audio-video production equipment (cameras, microphones, tripods, lighting, etc.) and digital still photography.
Knowledge of computers and non-linear video editing and graphics creation software.
Demonstrated ability to use creativity and imagination in the production of marketing, training, promotional, educational and informative videos.
Ability to work independently if needed with little supervision, utilizing problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to manage time, production schedules and meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity in full accord with the letter and spirit of Broward County's Ethics and Conflict of Interest policies.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers, elected and appointed officials and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability, sexual orientation/identity or political affiliation.
Ability to carry equipment weighing over 30 pounds for extended periods of time.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Graduation from a trade, technical, or vocational school or college with major course work in audio-video production, or two (2) years experience in audio-video production work, including audio-video editing work and use and setup of audio-video equipment.
