What We Do

We issue licenses and permits for several industries in Broward County. County regulations ensure a fair, safe and competitive marketplace, establish your rights and responsibilities when conducting business with them and also outline how to become a licensee. Select an industry for details.

On Tuesday, April 5, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners approved a resolution to Section 40.50 of the Broward County Administrative Code to allow for an increase in the first 1/6 of a mile charged by taxicabs if the 30-day average of unleaded regular gasoline is over $4.00 per gallon.  In order to charge the additional fee, the taxicab must have the taximeter adjusted to show the, current, $1.00 increase in the drop rate and have the new rate stickers posted on the vehicle.  The new rate stickers are available at Government Center West, 1 North University Drive in Plantation.
