The Broward County Planning Council is accepting applications for an Office Support Specialist to perform a variety of routine and specialized office support work involving the use of a personal computer, a variety of software applications, and other office equipment. Applicant must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe, and possess strong customer service skills. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
• Accounts payable/receivable
• Coordinating with various vendors regarding office supplies, equipment and functions
• Maintaining public records and public records requests
• Maintaining manual and electronic files
• Answering telephones on multi-line phone
• Documenting meeting minutes
• Assist with preparation of monthly public hearings
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and at least 1-2 years of clerical experience. Applicant must possess excellent organizational, time management and written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently with minimum oversight.
Physical demands of the position include but are not limited to performing light work that involves walking or standing and exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis, and skill, adeptness and speed in the use of fingers, hands and limbs on repetitive operation of electronic office equipment.
